Community Service

All high school students are required to complete 80 hours of community service by the end of their senior year.

Each high school grade level will complete a community service project:

  • 9th grade: Students will visit residents at Patriots Colony six times during the school year.
  • 10th grade: Students will volunteer six times during the school year at the Campus Crusade for Christ’s Military Spiritual Resources Center in Newport News.
  • 11th grade: The class will split into two groups. One group will participate in a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program at Stonehouse Elementary, and the other group will volunteer with Meals on Wheels six times during the school year.
  • 12th grade: Seniors will use the information they obtain from a spiritual gifts unit taught in their Bible class to choose an area to serve in the community. They will be accountable for the number of hours they serve and complete journal assignments through their Bible class.
