“I’ve had the privilege of participating as the lead in three major WCA productions. I remember my first audition — I was so nervous, but to my astonishment, I was chosen as the lead role! With all the applause, flowers, encores, and musical previews aside, I’m so thankful to WCA for pushing students to try new things and to do everything for the glory of God, for the new friendships made, for a new sense of confidence and belonging, and most of all for support and encouragement from the directors, Mrs. Elton and Mrs. Elliot.”
—Chandler Quick, 12th grade
WCA offers multiple opportunities for students to engage in theatrical productions, including skits designed for ministry on high school mission trips and in various chapels and assemblies. Our largest production, however, is presented each spring, when WCA students delight audiences of all ages with an annual musical. The young cast and crew impressively showcase their theatrical, musical, artistic and technical talents during several performances over the course of a weekend.
Students in grades 3-12 are invited to participate in the musical. To audition, actors are required to prepare and present a solo and a monologue. The production also includes costumes, sets, props, stage lighting, a sound system, and stage crew—all implemented by students.

Synopsis:
Oklahoma!, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration, is set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century. The high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Despite a bumpy journey, these two headstrong romantics strive to make a new life together in a brand new state!
