Gwen Martin, Head of school, presents Principal's Awards to one elementary student per grade.
Kindergarten and 5th grade students were honored during a combined Graduation ceremony. These students have developed personal relationships this year through the "Reading Buddies" program.
Students Pre-K through 5th grade received characted awards and other acedmic and fine arts awards during the WCA Elementary "Academy Awards".
Barbara Baganakis, Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, spoke to 6th grade students about the history of the American flag and it's proper care. Students learned how the design of the flag evolved and the meaning of the symbolism used in its design.
The Middle School Orchestra recieved First Place and Overall Bst Middle School Orchestra at the Music In The Parks Festival sponsored by Busch Gardens.
Jonathan DeMelkon, 9th grade, has been accepted into the People to People Leadership Summit at Harvard University this summer. People to People Student Leaders complete an academically rigorous program focused on leadership development and global awareness.
Students raised $1,000 for Toby's Dream Foundation during the "Eagles In Action" community service event. Toby's Dream Foundation is an organization that works to ensure that children living with life-threatening iilness have the opportunity and resources to experience their most fantastic dream. The Foundation is named in memory of WCA alumna Toby Vaught.

Eagles In Action 2010
All students partipated in a day of community service during the annual service/fund-raising event. Elementary students beautified the school grounds while high school and middle school students worked off campus at places such as Dreamcatchers Therapeudic Riding Center and the Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center.

Third grade students visited Patriot's Colony Retirement Community where residents enjoyed choral music, sign language interpretation and a performance by the Intermediate String Ensemble.
Second grade students received a visit from Dr. Heidi Goo who shared with the children replicas of human bone structure.
Kindergarten teacher, Teresa Randall was awarded a Mini-Grant from the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance for her Kindergarten Class Project, "Books and Cooks".

Third grade students studied and created "busts" of historical figures.
The faculty and staff of WCA wishes to express our sympathy to the family of Miss Evelyn Stone, who served WCA for 15 years as teacher and guidance counselor.
