Concentration on personalized learning is at the heart of our curriculum. Williamsburg Christian Academy is a school where all children can be who they are created to be, where opportunities abound, and where learning is embraced authentically through personalized instruction.
WCA strives to create an environment where success and excellence are the natural by-products of a focus on each student and the learning style that fits them best through programs such as the Daily Five reading program and the gifted program. We offer a rigorous academic curriculum with numerous honors and Advanced Placement course offerings.
Our graduates attend top colleges out-of-state as well as Virginia’s own highly acclaimed universities. The Class of 2016 was offered over 2.6 million dollars in scholarship money from both private and public universities. We are thankful to have beautiful facilities with science labs, a dedicated media room, and technology in the classrooms.
Aside from its main purpose of glorifying the Lord, studies have shown that art and music education stimulate and challenge the brain in a way that boosts capabilities in math and science. Williamsburg Christian Academy offers a variety of arts instruction at all age levels. Through outlets such as studio art, choral music, strings ensembles, drama, or praise band, students have the opportunity to express talents, refine skills, and share their gifts with others.
WCA's student artists are often recognized at art events in the area. Strings students often play at local venues and have even toured in Europe. Vocalists are given multiple opportunities to perform for school events and in the community. A highlight of each school year is WCA's production of a musical in which actors, technicians, and crew members participate in the full process of theatre.
WCA also features its own Student Art Gallery, filled with works from both students as well as donated works of art, all displayed in the western corridor of our 2nd level. We are also blessed to be home to a regular travelling art exhibit from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
The WCA athletic program is a community committed to developing maturity of mind, body and spirit through the pursuit of excellence and Christ-centered leadership. We have a vision to extend that Christian community through the sports we coach and play. We value student athletes and believe that care, accountability and a sense of belonging are critical for balance and progress.
WCA competes in the METRO (Metropolitan Association of Schools) Conference, as well as with other VISAA (Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association) teams throughout the state. We are proud to be the home of the 2012 VISAA Boys and Girls Division III basketball state champions, as well as state tournament level competition in volleyball and field hockey. Many of our student athletes continue their athletic careers in college, some at the NCAA Division I, II, or III levels.
...while building relationships that inspire students to serve their community...
